Yes, Piano Lessons in Atlanta Are for You!
It's a common misconception that only the young can benefit from learning the piano. Though young minds are more predispositioned to learn more quickly, people from every walk of life can learn to play the piano โ and play it well. It's never too late to pick up a new skill, whether it's painting, writing or playing music. Playing an instrument helps develop cognitive skills and sharpen memory. In older adults, it can even help delay and prevent conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
Learning the basics of the piano does not have to be the end of your lessons, either. Continuing to practice and learn from a professional teacher is a great way to master the keyboard. Even after more than 50 years of playing, I still receive lessons. Any of the best pianists in the world will tell you that the key to their success is their instructor, who is alway watching their back.
Prices
Piano lessons are typically done at a monthly rate, with one lesson per week. However, we can create a customized plan that fits your needs.
One-hour lessons: $240/month*
Half-hour lessons: $120/month* (Ideal for beginners)
In addition, workshop lessons are an invaluable tool I incorporate into my plans. One to two times a year, I will invite a guest instructor to teach that week. These lessons typically cost an extra $25 for that week only.
*Plus a $10 travel fee per household, per week
Recitals
The best part of learning a new skill is showing it off for friends and family members! Piano on Wheels has at least 3 recitals per year. While performance is not mandatory, I do urge each of my students to participate. Recitals are an invaluable tool for motivation and to be able to demonstrate what you have learned. There is a $20 annual recital fee to cover the cost of the venue.
In addition to in-house recitals, I also encourage my young students to participate in the Music Development Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music. The Conservatory hosts sponsored exams a few times a year and is a great way to evaluate the skills students have learned with Piano on Wheels. You can learn more about the examinations and the Conservatory as a whole here.
I will work with you to create a lesson plan that best fits your needs and schedule. Call or email today to learn more about piano lessons in Athens, GA and Atlanta!
