Piano Lessons for Children in Atlanta

There is no better activity for you child than learning music. It is in our adolescence that we are best able to pick up new skills, like language and music. Even if they choose not to pursue lessons later in life, learning this skill has its benefits. The piano teaches children to think critically and holistically, and to look ahead and assess potential problems. In addition, music instills discipline, as we must practice consistently to learn how to play well. In fact, scientific studies have shown that piano lessons can increase a child's intelligence!

As a father of six, I know how difficult it can be to schedule music lessons when your child's days are filled with school, homework, extracurricular activities and other obligations. That's why I will work closely with you and your family to craft a lesson schedule that meets your demanding schedule, even if it means moving lessons to different days in different weeks.

Lesson Plans

For children, I recommend four half-hour lessons a month, costing $120 per month.* This plan also includes workshop lessons once or twice a year with an guest artist or teacher. I also encourage every student to take part in recitals to demonstrate what they have learned so far. Recitals are free, and are held one to two times per year. Recitals are not required, however.

I also encourage my younger students to participate in the Royal Conservatory of Music's sponsored examinations, which are held once to twice a year. You can learn more about this program by contacting me or visiting the Conservatory's website.

If you are hesitant about whether your child will want to learn the piano, we can arrange a trial lesson before we create a full plan. Call or email to learn more about children's piano lessons in Atlanta and Athens, GA!
